Chalet des Cloches — Bonnevaux / Portes du Soleil — French Alps

Bienvenue au Chalet des Cloches!

Welcome to Chalet des Cloches, a holiday home in the beautiful village of Bonnevaux, set in the French Alps close to Lake Geneva.

At just twenty minutes away from the fabulous Portes du Soleil ski resorts, it’s a perfect location for winter sports. And, in the summer, there are picturesque hiking and biking routes to enjoy.

Converted from a traditional farmhouse, Chalet des Cloches offers five bedrooms, including a bunk room, suiting groups of up to twelve people.

Living and dining areas

Chalet des Cloches is an ‘upside down’ home, with the living areas on the top floor where you can best experience the fabulous scenery.

You can cook your meals in our state-of-the-art kitchen, dine together under the beautifully vaulted ceiling, before relaxing in front of the fire with a glass of your favourite tipple.

Then, in the morning, walk out onto the balcony to sip your coffee while enjoying the view of the mountains.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

We have a total of five bedrooms. Four of these are double rooms which can be converted into twin beds, three of which have en suite facilities. There’s also a bunk room which sleeps four; just right for the kids.

In addition to the en suite facilities there is also a family bathroom.

Behind the chalet we have a private terraced garden, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on a summer’s evening. And, at any time of year, our sunken hot tub is the ultimate treat for muscles tired from a day’s adventuring.

Chalet des Cloches is a traditional Haute-Savoie farmhouse in the centre of the village of Bonnevaux. We’re next to the village church and the chalet’s name, which translates as Chalet of Bells, pays homage to the church’s impressive bell tower.

At almost 1,000m above sea level, we benefit from the best of the snow and the warmth of the sun. So, whether you’re staying at Chalet des Cloches in the winter or summer, you’ll find no end of activities to enjoy.

In the winter we’re just a twenty minute drive from the Portes du Soleil ski resort at Abondance, which has four green, six blue, two red and one black run. At Abondance there is an abundance of winter sports available, including downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoe walks, ice driving, ski joering, husky sledding and ice skating.

When the snow has cleared, the true beauty of this mountainous region is revealed. There is a wealth of walking, hiking, climbing and cycling trails nearby and we’re just a half hour drive from the stunning Lake Geneva.

Unfortunately, Chalet des Cloches is currently being refurbished and is not available for rental.
